Assistant Professor of Management
About the role
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Management Information Systems and will develop new courses and update existing curriculum to reflect current trends in information systems and technology innovation.
The position includes advising and mentoring students, integrating applied technology experiences into instruction, and participating in departmental, college, and university service activities.
Teaching responsibilities include core courses in management information systems, software productivity tools, database systems, systems analysis and design, information security and privacy, geographic information systems, and business analytics.
Graduate teaching may include information systems for leaders and applied decision support systems.
The candidate is expected to demonstrate expertise in information systems concepts and applications, including data and database management, analytics, systems development, decision support, and emerging technologies.
The candidate is expected to teach applied, tool-based courses using platforms such as Excel, R, Python, SQL, ArcGIS, and other analytics and decision-support tools.
Experience or interest in teaching and developing courses in artificial intelligence and generative AI applications in business is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Management Information Systems
- Develop new courses and update existing curriculum
- Integrate applied technology experiences into instruction

- Teach core courses in management information systems, software productivity tools, database systems, systems analysis and design, information security and privacy, geographic information systems, and business analytics
- Teach applied, tool-based courses using platforms such as Excel, R, Python, SQL, ArcGIS, and other analytics and decision-support tools
- Contribute to departmental, college, and university service
- Contribute to scholarly research with publications in peer-reviewed academic journals
- Engage in professional service within the MIS discipline
- Involvement in activities that support the mission of the institution and its students and community
Requirements
- Ph.D. or DBA in Management Information Systems or related field (Information technology, Business Analytics, Decision Sciences, Applied Artificial Intelligence with a strong business focus, etc.) from an AACSB accredited institution.
- Applicants nearing completion of a doctoral degree may be considered; however, employment is contingent upon submission of evidence of degree completion by August 1, 2026.
- Evidence of successful teaching experience in higher education.
- A record of, or strong potential for, conducting high-quality research.
- Willingness to engage in Departmental, College, University, and Community service activities.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching undergraduates from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds, including first-generation students.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. or DBA in Management Information Systems or related field from an AACSB accredited institution.

Assistant Professor; salary based on qualifications and experience. Anticipated annual salary range $74,652 – $135,000.
