Department of Management in the Miller College of Business at Ball State University welcomes applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor with expertise in Leadership, Organizational Behavior, or related fields. The university will consider sponsorship.

About the role

Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting scholarly research in leadership, organizational behavior, or related fields, and service to the university and profession. Tenure is awarded based on demonstrated excellence in performance, budgetary considerations, tenure density, and the needs of the university.

Responsibilities

  • Teach up to 9 semester hours of undergraduate and/or graduate courses, both on-campus and online. Teaching reduction is available for exceptional research performance. Time release and summer stipend are available for recent PhD graduates.
  • Conduct scholarly research in leadership, organizational behavior, or related fields, and publish in high-quality academic journals.
  • Actively contribute in service roles to Ball State University, the local community, and the academic profession.

Requirements

  • PhD from an AACSB-accredited institution in management or a closely related field with emphasis on leadership or organizational behavior topics. ABD candidates will be considered during the selection process.
  • Evidence of scholarly research and teaching experience in a business-related field.
  • At least one semester of higher education teaching experience in the field of management at an AACSB-accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year (9 months) of teaching experience in leadership, organizational behavior, or human resource management at an AACSB-accredited institution, with preference for candidates interested in teaching organizational change.
  • A record of publications in prestigious refereed journals in management.
  • Contributions to a prominent organization that serves academic professionals.

Pay

$130,000 - $133,000

Start date: August 1, 2027. Applications will be reviewed beginning September 15, 2026.
