Responsibilities
- Teach at least four undergraduate courses each semester
- Assist in student advisement within the History Department, including course selection and career planning.
- This may include orientation and during other times when classes are not in session.
- Respond to needs and concerns of departmental faculty, administrative staff and students in a respectful and professional manner.
- Engage students in the classroom and inspire them to fulfill department and college-wide goals.
- Work closely with each student on multiple drafts of papers in order to improve their writing skills.
- Create clear course descriptions and syllabi with achievable evaluable goals.
- Evaluate student work with thoughtful comments and in a timely manner.
- Participate in professional conferences and/or publish work in academic journals in order to increase the visibility of Touro University.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Philosophy in History required.
- Ph.D. in History, with scholarship in a defined area.
- Minimum 2 years teaching experience in a post-secondary institution.
- Record of academic research.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
- Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with frequent high levels of urgency or sensitivity.
- Must be able to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues in a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills are required, both written and oral, as well as a high level of sophistication and maturity in social and professional settings.
- Proficiency in Canvas, Microsoft Office including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Pay
Maximum Salary USD $75,000.00/Yr.
