Assistant Professor of Computer Science tenure-track position with the Oklahoma State University Department of Computer Science, starting January 2027.

Faculty are expected to pursue research collaborations with other faculty, industry, and research institutions, as well as support the university’s land-grant mission through teaching and outreach. Responsibilities include developing and teaching courses for online certificate and degree programs, with possible assignment to either the Tulsa or Stillwater campus.

The OSU Department of Computer Science (https://cs.okstate.edu) is committed to excellence in research, teaching, and outreach. It offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science, a B.S. in Applied Computer Programming, and two interdisciplinary M.S. programs in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The department also provides online courses and serves approximately 420 undergraduate and 100 graduate students, with continued growth expected.

Responsibilities

• Expand the department’s excellence in education, research, and outreach.
• Pursue research collaborations with faculty, industry, and research institutions.
• Support the university’s land-grant mission through teaching and outreach activities.
• Develop and teach courses for online certificate and degree programs.
• Serve at either the Tulsa or Stillwater campus as assigned.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related discipline (degree must be conferred by the start date).
• Demonstrated research background, evidenced by conference and journal publications.
• Preferred research and teaching interests in artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data analytics, or related areas, with a solid track record in core Computer Science domains.

Preferred Qualifications

• Evidence of high-quality research with a trajectory of building a national profile.
• Experience in successful college or university-level teaching and mentorship.

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to mentor and collaborate effectively with students and colleagues.
