Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversees outcomes, quality, and patient experience for the program
- Covers scheduling services for physicians to ensure coverage
- Maintains administrative records pertaining to the scheduling of all physicians
- Performs daily unit rounds on all assigned inpatients
- Provides outpatient professional medical services related to the Program
- Coordinates inpatient and clinic care with the patient’s primary physician
- Collaborates with other physicians and hospital personnel to reduce resource use and length of stay
- Responds to patient inquiries and facilitates patient throughput
- Participates in clinical effectiveness programs and quality initiatives
- Implements teaching activities related to residents and fellows
- Works with hospital personnel to obtain program designations of distinction
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- A keen interest in and concern for the needs of plastic surgery patients
- Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatments
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Fluent in Spanish (greatly valued)
Education Requirements (Essential Requirements)
- Strong commitment to patient care and education
- An interest in clinical research
- Bachelor's degree in pre-medicine or related field
- 4 years in medical school and additional residency and fellowship specialty training
- Board certified in surgery
- Valid DEA Registration and Florida Medical License
- Completed an ACGME approved plastic surgery fellowship
Work Experience Requirements (Essential Requirements)
- 0 – 5 years post-fellowship clinical experience in the field of breast surgery preferred
