Assistant Professor of Clinical Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery

The University of Southern California (USC) is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified Otolaryngologist with fellowship training and expertise in Sleep Surgery, or both Sleep Medicine and Sleep Surgery, to join the Caruso Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team focused on advancing patient care, research, and clinical teaching. They will evaluate and treat adult patients with sleep-related breathing disorders, perform advanced sleep surgery procedures, and collaborate with Sleep Medicine physicians. Clinical duties include seeing patients in various USC clinics and performing surgeries at Keck Medical Center of USC and other USC-affiliated hospitals.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat adult patients with sleep-related breathing disorders
  • Perform advanced sleep surgery procedures
  • Collaborate with Sleep Medicine physicians
  • Participate in the USC Multidisciplinary Sleep Center
  • Contribute to clinical research, resident and medical student education, and multidisciplinary collaborations

Requirements

  • Board-eligible or board-certified Otolaryngologist with fellowship training in Sleep Surgery or both Sleep Medicine and Sleep Surgery
  • Demonstrated expertise or strong potential in sleep surgery, including contemporary approaches to the surgical management of obstructive sleep apnea and related sleep disorders
  • Strong opportunity to start a fellowship program if desired

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Current California Medical License
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Sleep Medicine or Sleep Surgery, or equivalent
  • Successful completion of the American Board of Otolaryngology-HNS Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Certification Examination

Pay

The annual base salary range for an entry-level rank is $330,000 – $350,000. Supplemental incentive compensation will be added in accordance with the departmental compensation plan.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is Full-Time 8 Hours Day.
