Assistant Professor of Clinical Anatomy, Cell Biology, and Physiology

Position Summary

The Indiana University School of Medicine–Terre Haute (IUSM–TH) invites applications from outstanding individuals for a non-tenure track, 12-month faculty appointment at the Assistant Clinical Professor level. The candidate will be involved in multiple aspects of medical student education including: teaching in pre-clinical courses, mentoring students, serving on local and statewide medical and/or graduate student committees, and providing requested input to medical and graduate training programs. The position will have additional focus on advancing medical student scholarship on campus by supporting students’ scholarship endeavors, including through the IUSM-TH’s Scholarly Concentrations.

Primary Teaching Responsibilities

• Gross anatomy
• Neuroanatomy
• Histology
• Embryology
• Other basic science disciplines

Qualifications

• Doctorate or terminal degree required
• Successful candidates will: Hold a PhD or equivalent terminal degree
• Successfully demonstrate teaching experience at an MD- or DO-granting medical school (experience as a graduate student is acceptable)
• Show expertise in anatomy instruction, including training and experience with cadaveric dissection, as well as familiarity with lab preparation and operations, preferably within a medical curriculum
• Show experience in the design and implementation of educational scholarship, including prior collaborations with MD and/or DO students
• Show experience collaborating with research and/or clinical faculty
