Assistant Professor - Nursing
About the role
The School of Nursing and Health Sciences at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) invites applications for a full time, permanent, Assistant/Associate Professor position in the Department of Nursing beginning August, 2026. The ideal candidate seeks an academic career in a comprehensive college that emphasizes teaching and learning in a teacher-scholar model.
Responsibilities
- Effective teaching in the classroom and clinical settings
- Full-time teaching load is 24 faculty weighted hours per contract year or approximately 4 courses per semester
- Additional responsibilities include scholarship within the discipline, professional development, service on committees, and advising
Qualifications
- Required: Doctoral degree in nursing or related field
- Master's degree in nursing, and expertise in a clinical population area
- Clinical practice and teaching experience across the curriculum in undergraduate and/or graduate programs
- Strong track record of scholarship, including publications and presentations
- Preference given to faculty with certification as an Adult Gerontology/Nurse Practitioner; experience and education in specialty areas such as adult health/medical-surgical nursing, informatics, maternal child health and/or community/publish health nursing
Preferred
- A minimum of one-year full-time faculty level teaching experience
- Doctorate degree
- A track record of scholarship
