About the role

The Assistant Tenure-Track Professor position in the Psychology Department at California State University (CSU), Chico, is a tenure-track position starting in August 2027. The position is part of the 22-campus CSU system, known for its diverse student body and commitment to equity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Teach graduate courses and potentially undergraduate courses as needed.
  • Supervise graduate trainees.
  • Develop and conduct research or scholarly activities.
  • Support the administrative and advising needs of the Marriage & Family Therapy program.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree from a COAMFTE accredited Marriage & Family Therapy Program or an accredited Counseling or Clinical Psychology program.
  • Candidate must have achieved CA licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist, Psychologist, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor by the end of the third year.
  • Candidate must have achieved CA Board of Behavioral Sciences MFT supervisor qualifications by the end of the third year.
  • Experience in undergraduate and/or graduate instruction.
  • A record of research and/or scholarly activities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education requirement: Doctorate degree from a COAMFTE accredited Marriage & Family Therapy Program or an accredited Counseling or Clinical Psychology program.
  • Meeting or intending to meet CA Board of Behavioral Sciences MFT supervisor qualifications.

Pay

Salary commensurate with education and experience. (Anticipated hiring range: $74,652 - $89,772 per year).
