Assistant Professor- IL- Physiology
About the role
The Department of Physiology, College of Graduate Studies at Midwestern University (MWU; Downers Grove IL; www.midwestern.edu) invites applications for a full time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor.
Responsibilities
- Teach discipline-specific and integrated basic science courses in physiology to students pursuing master’s degrees in biomedical sciences, and professional degrees in various healthcare fields.
- Collaborate with colleagues in additional colleges based on research or teaching collaborations.
- Establish an independent biomedical research program with the potential to attract extramural funding.
Requirements
- Hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
- Completed at least two years of post-doctoral training.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- A strong background in general physiology.
- Preference given to applicants with experience teaching human renal and/or respiratory physiology.
- Capable of effectively teaching animal physiology.
Qualifications
- Genuine passion for teaching.
- Strong commitment to educating future health-care professionals.
Skills
- Ability to teach physiology effectively.
- Research skills to establish an independent biomedical research program.
