Assistant Professor- IL- Physiology

About the role

The Department of Physiology, College of Graduate Studies at Midwestern University (MWU; Downers Grove IL; www.midwestern.edu) invites applications for a full time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Responsibilities

• Teach discipline-specific and integrated basic science courses in physiology to students pursuing master’s degrees in biomedical sciences, and professional degrees in various healthcare fields.
• Collaborate with colleagues in additional colleges based on research or teaching collaborations.
• Establish an independent biomedical research program with the potential to attract extramural funding.

Requirements

• Hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
• Completed at least two years of post-doctoral training.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• A strong background in general physiology.
• Preference given to applicants with experience teaching human renal and/or respiratory physiology.
• Capable of effectively teaching animal physiology.

• Genuine passion for teaching.
• Strong commitment to educating future health-care professionals.

Skills

• Ability to teach physiology effectively.
• Research skills to establish an independent biomedical research program.
