About the role
The Assistant Professor will contribute to the University of South Carolina's mission of advancing knowledge and education in health communication, particularly focusing on the integrity and trust in health-related information disseminated through social media platforms.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on the impact of social media on public health and trust in health information
- Develop and deliver courses in health communication and related fields
- Engage in community outreach and partnerships to enhance public understanding of health communication issues
- Participate in university service activities, such as committee work and departmental initiatives
Requirements
- A PhD in Communication, Health Sciences, Public Health, or a related field
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
- Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate students in health communication
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Qualifications
- Expertise in health communication, especially in the context of social media
- Knowledge of current trends and challenges in health communication
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods
