Essential Job Functions

Counsults in conducting research in molecular cellular biology, genomics, and bioinformatics.

Generates data and assists/leads data analysis, interpretation of results and preparation of manuscripts.

Assists/leads in preparation and submission of grant proposals.

Participates in collaborative research with researchers within the Institute for Neuro Immune Medicine (INIM), Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine (KPCOM) and outside of the College, fostering collaborative research environment aligned with Nova Southeastern University (NSU) mission.

Represents the INIM, KPCOM and NSU by engaging in scholarship activities producing publications in reputable scientific journals and presentations at professional conferences both nationally and internationally.

Participates in the day-to-day operations of Genomic group including training, annual reviews, hiring and all other aspects of staff oversight.

Participates in University and College-wide activities, such as interdisciplinary research meetings, faculty meetings, committee meetings, admissions, etc.

Assists in the establishing, implementing, and troubleshooting of initial protocols and laboratory procedures.

Works with the NSU biosafety and research services to adhere to NSU policies.

Develops an academic career and works initially in a mentored position with the intent to work independently and maintain a successful research portfolio that promotes the aims of INIM and KPCOM.

Experience working in research.

Highly motivated in cellular molecular biology with interest and background in genomics and pathway analysis.

Skilled to work with the scientific literature.

Skilled to write reports, manuscripts, procedure manuals and business correspondence.

Skilled to clearly present information and explain results on technical and layout levels.
Required Education
Terminal Degree Major (if required: Ph.D. in cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, genomics or equivalent.)
Required Experience
Two (2) years of relevant post-graduate and/or industrial experience.
Preferred Qualifications

Solid working knowledge of and hands on experience with PCR, NanoString, multiplex assays, cell culture and genomic methods.
