About the role
Lincoln University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position (s) in General Health Science. The successful candidate will be a dynamic teacher of undergraduate students as well as a scholar with a dedicated research and publication agenda. The ideal candidate will show evidence of thoughtful intellectual engagement in general health science or a related health field. Candidates will be expected to teach (in-person) the equivalent of 20 credit hours each academic year.
Responsibilities
- Offer dynamic, engaging, and student-centered pedagogy utilizing up-to-date expertise in General Health Science and best pedagogical practices in those areas.
- Actively mentor and advise departmental majors.
- Be a contributing member of departmental and university-required meetings and initiatives, including departmental meetings and events, course and curriculum development, and university-wide initiatives.
- Maintain active professional engagement and research, which are required for promotion and tenure consideration.
- Share the University’s commitment to fostering an open and supportive academic environment, and be prepared to join an active cohort of faculty who teach undergraduate courses and advise/mentor students.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. degree in Health Science or a related health field (ABD status will be considered if the candidate (s) is close to the defense date).
Qualifications
- Evidence of 2 + years of teaching at the undergraduate level.
- Proven agenda of research and professional engagement.
- Communication skills consistent with effective teaching, mentoring, and motivating Health Science majors from a broad range of cultural, ethnic, and economic backgrounds.
- Experience in course design, development, and assessment of student learning outcomes.
- Experience utilizing Learning Management Systems such as Canvas and other software.
Skills
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds as needed.
- Dexterity to write and manipulate a computer keyboard and mouse.
- Ability to hear and speak clearly.
- Body mobility to stoop, kneel, bend, and reach.
