About the role
The successful candidate will perform teaching, research, student advisement, and participate in departmental, college, and university service consistent with CUNY faculty responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in Health Science and Community Health
- Advise and mentor students toward academic and professional success
- Participate in curriculum development, assessment, and program evaluation
- Engage in scholarly, professional, and creative activities appropriate to rank
- Serve on departmental, college, and university committees
- Perform related academic and administrative duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Health Science/Community Health or a closely related discipline or equivalent terminal degree
- Prior college-level teaching experience with demonstrated experience working with diverse, non-traditional, and underserved student populations
- Experience coordinating and delivering courses across multiple modalities, including online, hybrid, and in-person formats
- Demonstrated ability to teach successfully at the college level
- Evidence of scholarship, professional achievement, or academic potential
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and external clinical partners
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience in Health Science/Community Health programs
- Five years of college-level teaching experience with demonstrated experience working with diverse, non-traditional, and underserved student populations
- Ability to teach across health science, community health, health education, community and public health, sport management, and physical education
- Knowledge of and commitment to Associate Degree Health Science/Community Health education
- Experience with curriculum development, assessment, and academic program review
- Evidence of ongoing scholarly or professional activity
