Position Summary
The Beverley Taylor Sorenson College of Education and Human Development is looking for a dynamic, highly qualified educator in the Family Life and Human Development department. A completed PhD degree in FLHD or related discipline is required for a tenure-track, assistant professor position.
Essential Functions
- Teach 4 undergraduate courses in any of the following areas: Human Development, Family Studies, Family Services, and/or Social Work.
- Specific courses taught will depend on qualifications and expertise and may include: Introduction to Family Services and Social Work, Lifespan Development, Family Life Education, Internship Supervision, Family Process and Theory, Diverse Individuals and Families, Relationships and Marriage, amongst others.
- The primary focus of this position is teaching and mentoring students.
- Professional commitment, scholarly activity, and service to the department, college, and university are expected and required for rank advancement and tenure considerations.
- Other assignments as determined by the department chair and dean.
Education & Experience
- Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Family Sciences, Human Development, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or closely related field.
- Evidence of successful teaching experience in Family Life and Human Development courses or related disciplines.
- Potential tenure track position applicants should provide evidence of research experience, expertise, mentoring undergraduate research, etc.
- Familiarity with online teaching delivery systems and/or interest and ability in utilizing and facilitating educational technologies in teaching.
