Assistant Professor, Tenure Track
About the role
The Department of Anatomical Sciences & Neurobiology (ASNB) in the School of Medicine at the University of Louisville invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking outstanding investigators conducting basic or translational research focused on neurobiological processes and/or therapeutic approaches aimed at improving symptoms or altering the course of disease. Candidates with research programs centered on aging, neurodegenerative diseases and movement disorders are especially encouraged to apply. Additionally, the department has a strong preference for individuals utilizing innovative, cutting-edge technologies to address these research areas.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a clear plan for developing and sustaining an innovative, externally funded research program (e.g., through federal agencies, private foundations or industry contracts).
- Complement the department’s strengths in circuit-level neuroscience, sensory neuroscience and spinal cord injury research.
- Contribute to a culture of collaboration, innovation and inclusion.
Requirements
- Hold an M.D., Ph.D., or both.
- Be creative, enthusiastic and highly motivated.
Qualifications

- Strong preference for individuals utilizing innovative, cutting-edge technologies to address research areas such as aging, neurodegenerative diseases and movement disorders.

Salary will be commensurate with experience, qualifications and funding.
