Assistant Professor – Environmental, Risk, or Science Communication

About the role

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Environmental, Risk, or Science Communication. Requirements

• PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Environmental Studies, Risk Communication, Science Communication, or a related field
• Strong record of teaching excellence at both the undergraduate and graduate levels
• Experience in securing external research funding
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse academic community

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Proven ability to engage students in critical thinking and problem-solving
• Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration

Skills

• Expertise in environmental, risk, or science communication
• Ability to teach in both online and traditional classroom settings
• Experience with grant writing and proposal development

The starting salary for this position is estimated at $65,129 per year.
