The Electrical and Microelectronic Engineering Technology Department at Rochester Institute of Technology invites applications for an Associate Professor position specializing in nanoelectronics, semiconductor devices, or digital electronics. The ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field, with a strong publication record in relevant areas and prior teaching experience.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Record of refereed publications in semiconductor materials, device physics, CMOS processing, neuromorphic/AI semiconductor devices, memory devices, III-V semiconductor epitaxy, or related areas
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in cleanroom environments and fabrication techniques
  • Teaching experience in semiconductor and microelectronics-related fields
  • Potential for securing external funding
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within and beyond the department

Qualifications

  • Extensive fabrication experience in a cleanroom environment
  • Strong record of refereed publications in relevant areas
  • Effective teaching experience, including serving as a Teaching Assistant
  • Ability to establish and conduct sponsored research
  • Commitment to fostering a community centered around student-centeredness, professional development, and collaboration

Skills

Proficiency in semiconductor device physics, CMOS processing, neuromorphic/AI semiconductor devices, memory devices, III-V semiconductor epitaxy, and related areas is essential. The successful candidate will also possess strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
