Assistant Professor - Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (Knoxville, TN)
Responsibilities
Direct supervision of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residents in office-based procedures conducted at the faculty member’s OMFS surgical center, as well as supervision of hospital-based procedures involving the comprehensive management of facial trauma and other emergency patient care.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited dental degree and completion of a CODA-accredited Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency.
- Board certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is desirable but not required.
- Candidates must hold an active Tennessee dental license, a Tennessee Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery specialty license, and a Tennessee general anesthesia permit.
- Completion of a CODA-accredited Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency and fellowship training in cosmetic surgery.
- Demonstrated expertise in office-based anesthesia and sedation, as well as comprehensive office-based Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and facial cosmetic surgery procedures, is highly desirable.
- Experience in the management of maxillofacial trauma and post-traumatic reconstructive surgery is also preferred.
Departmental Preferences
Completion of a CODA-accredited Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency and fellowship training in cosmetic surgery. Demonstrated expertise in office-based anesthesia and sedation, as well as comprehensive office-based Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and facial cosmetic surgery procedures, is highly desirable. Experience in the management of maxillofacial trauma and post-traumatic reconstructive surgery is also preferred.
