About the role
The successful candidate will be a recognized scholar who will enhance and augment the Solid Earth research team and contribute to our education and service missions. The position aligns directly with the department’s vision for advancing research in emerging, societally relevant areas over the next 3–4 years, positioning Tulane at the forefront of efforts to integrate Earth and Environmental Sciences with sustainability and energy innovation.
Responsibilities
- Develop a cutting-edge research program
- Teach at undergraduate and graduate level
- Contribute to development and become a leader in the new Tulane Institute of Advanced Energy Studies
- Contribute to departmental and university service
Requirements
We seek a candidate whose research has applications in energy systems, including critical minerals for the energy transition, and who strengthens university-wide energy initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Earth and Environmental Sciences or a related field, and a strong publication record in relevant areas.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
