Assistant Professor Clinical Practice, AE General Pediatrics & Urgent Care
Opportunity: The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) John Sealy School of Medicine in Galveston is seeking a full-time General Pediatric Clinician Educator at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. About the role
This full-time academic role combines clinical care and education within a multidisciplinary environment. Responsibilities include contributing to the education of pediatric residents and medical students, providing meaningful clinical care across UTMB’s Regional Women Services and Pediatrics (RWSP) clinics in the Houston area, and supporting the Houston Region through clinical oversight of Pediatric Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive general pediatric care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support the division’s clinical and educational missions.
- Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Provide prescriptive authority and clinical oversight for Pediatric APPs serving RWSP clinics in the Houston area.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency Program.
- Board Certification or Eligibility in General Pediatrics.
- Ability to obtain an unrestricted Texas medical license.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient care and medical education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five years of clinical experience.
- Prior academic experience in resident and medical student education.
- U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S.
