Opportunity with the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) John Sealy School of Medicine in Galveston. This full-time position is open at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor and offers the chance to join a nationally recognized academic health system and a collaborative team dedicated to advancing care for children.

About the role

This position offers the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment, contribute to the education of pediatric residents and medical students, and engage in meaningful clinical care across UTMB’s Regional Women Services and Pediatrics (RWSP) clinics across the Houston area.

Primary clinical responsibilities include providing coverage in general pediatrics and supporting the Houston Region for the RWSP clinics by providing essential prescriptive authority and clinical oversight for the Pediatrics Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) serving the surrounding clinics.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive general pediatric care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support the division’s clinical and educational missions.
  • Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications

  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency Program.
  • Board Certification or Eligibility in General Pediatrics.
  • Ability to obtain an unrestricted Texas medical license.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient care and medical education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five years of clinical experience.
  • Prior academic experience in resident and medical student education.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S.
