Assistant Professor - Biblical Studies and Christian Ministry

Regent University’s College of Arts & Sciences is seeking a full-time, tenure-track faculty member in Old Testament to teach in the Biblical Studies and Christian Ministry department. This is a residential position located on the Virginia Beach, Virginia, campus.

About the Role

The successful applicant will possess a PhD in Old Testament, Bible Exposition, or an equivalent field from a regionally accredited institution. The ideal candidate will specialize in the intertextuality of the Old Testament books, assigning more contextual weight to the greater narrative that binds the thirty-nine books in anticipation of Jesus Christ and the New Testament. Ability to teach Biblical Hebrew I and II is also preferred.

Candidates will primarily teach 15-week, on-campus courses. However, an ability to teach 8-week online courses via Canvas is expected.

Qualifications

• PhD in Old Testament, Bible Exposition, or an equivalent field from a regionally accredited institution
• Specialization in the intertextuality of the Old Testament books
• Experience teaching at the undergraduate level
• Ability to teach Biblical Hebrew I and II (preferred)

All regular faculty and staff serving at Regent and working a minimum of 30 hours per week will receive an attractive benefits package.

Pay

$65,000-$75,000 annually

Appointment will begin July 1st, 2027.
