About the role

This 12-month, full-time (1.0 FTE) on-site faculty position will remain open until filled. This existing position reports to the Athletic Training Program Director, and will have responsibilities related to teaching, research, and service.

Responsibilities

  • Teach graduate athletic training coursework; develop and refine curriculum.
  • Assess student learning and implement ongoing improvements.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, governance, and committee work.
  • Advise and mentor students.
  • Engage in scholarly work and present findings through publications or presentations.
  • Contribute to program development, college-wide collaboration, and professional engagement.
  • Perform additional academic duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral (i.e. PhD, EdD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active BOC certification and current (or eligible for) Florida Athletic Training licensure.
  • Desire to teach in area of expertise.
  • Must meet University criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.

The USF Health Morsani College of Medicine includes the School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences, Physician Assistant Program, and Medical Education and Graduate Education Programs. The school includes the Athletic Training Program, Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program, and Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program. The DPT professional program enrolls approximately 50 students per class each year and is ranked in the top 35 programs per the US News and World Report.

The USF Athletic Training Program was the first AT program to be housed in a College of Medicine and currently has one of the largest and most diverse student populations in the country. The school’s research mission generates over $5M in funded extramural research.
