About the role
The Department of Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the areas of experimental or theoretical condensed matter physics. Successful candidates will connect with existing Departmental research activity in the fields of solid-state quantum information processing, strongly correlated materials, biomaterials, mesoscopic devices and quantum transport, low-dimensional electronic systems, quantum many-body physics, and topological materials. Candidates must have a proven track record of innovation and high-impact research and are expected to build a vigorous, well-funded research program with international profile.
Responsibilities
- Conduct innovative research in the field of condensed matter physics
- Build a vigorous, well-funded research program
- Collaborate with existing Departmental research activity
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in physics
- Participate in departmental service activities
Requirements
- PhD in Physics or a related field
- Proven track record of innovation and high-impact research
- Ability to secure external funding
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Qualifications
- Strong background in condensed matter physics
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: solid-state quantum information processing, strongly correlated materials, biomaterials, mesoscopic devices and quantum transport, low-dimensional electronic systems, quantum many-body physics, and topological materials
