About the Role
The Raj Soin College of Business invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Successful candidates should be committed to growing the programs, excellence in teaching, service to the student and university, professional growth, research, and scholarship. This position will actively participate in and support accreditation processes and the development of new programs.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate classes in accounting, bringing passion and enthusiasm for the discipline.
- Perform scholarly research and service within the university and the greater community.
- Develop and manage curriculum in Accounting and the MBA program.
- Teach courses in the Accountancy and MBA programs, incorporating business analytics and artificial intelligence.
- Introduce new teaching techniques, evaluate student progress, and engage students through interactive and experiential learning.
- Maintain a minimum of four regular office hours per week, spread over at least two days, with flexibility to meet students outside scheduled hours.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new programs and initiatives to improve student outcomes and overall quality of the business school.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, advising and mentoring them throughout their studies.
- Assist in the development of course learning outcomes, curriculum maps, resource guides, textbooks, syllabi templates, and updated course materials.
- Conduct and publish original, discipline-based scholarship in refereed journals to maintain "Scholarly Academic" classification under AACSB International guidelines.
- Maintain an active research agenda and share expertise with academic and business communities.
- Engage in shared governance at the school, college, and university levels.
- Actively pursue recruitment, retention, and success of students; attend and support recruitment and outreach events each semester.
- Regularly attend school and field meetings, demonstrating leadership in service activities that support the mission and goals of the school, college, or university.
- Create and provide oversight of program/industry advisory boards.
- Represent the program in regional campus meetings, special events, open houses, and orientations.
- Leverage professional networks and create local events to increase program, college, and university brand visibility.
Percent of Time Allocation:
- Teaching: 40%
- Scholarship/Research: 40%
- Service: 20%
Requirements
Assistant Professor
- Ph.D. or other terminal degree in Accountancy or a closely related field, anticipated by the start date.
- Must meet the AACSB classification of Scholarly Academic during the pre-tenure period.
Associate Professor
- Ph.D. or other terminal degree in Accountancy or a closely related field.
- Must meet the AACSB classification of Scholarly Academic.
- Must meet College of Business Administration (CBA) and bylaws minimum requirements for scholarship and teaching at the rank of Associate Professor.
- Minimum of three years prior teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. from an AACSB-accredited institution.
- Knowledge of AI in the Accounting discipline.
- Real-world expertise in relevant areas of business, including teaching, consulting, defense, or corporate experience in accounting.
