About the role
The Department of Architecture at the University of California, Berkeley, invites applications for two (2) full-time, tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor in Architectural Design – Engaged Practice.
Responsibilities
- Core instruction in architectural design at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, with particular emphasis on Foundational Studios and Courses, as well as Integrated Design Studios.
- Lead advanced design studios and offer seminar and/or lecture courses aligned with their specific area of expertise and inquiry in architectural design.
- Service to the department, college, university, profession, and broader community is an essential component of the appointment.
- Demonstrate exemplary architectural work and the ability to disseminate their work through appropriate venues.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree (or equivalent international degree)
- One of the following by the start date of the position is strongly preferred:
- A professional graduate degree in architecture (M.Arch or an equivalent international degree)
- An undergraduate degree in architecture (B.Arch or an equivalent international degree) with an additional graduate degree (such as an MA, MS, or Ph.D.)

Pay
The current salary range for this position is $80,800 – $128,700 (9-month academic year salary), however, off-scale salary and other components of pay, which would yield compensation that is higher than this range, are offered to meet competitive conditions.
