Position Overview
The Department of Exercise & Sport Science at the University of Wisconsin‑La Crosse is seeking applicants for a 9‑month tenure‑track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The appointment is expected to begin on 8/23/2027, with the possibility of a January 2027 start. Candidates with expertise in exercise physiology, human physiology, integrative physiology, applied physiology, systemic physiology (cardiorespiratory, metabolic, neurological, etc.), pathophysiology, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses and advise students.
- Prepare for and conduct classes, maintaining current knowledge in the content area.
- Evaluate student work, assess outcomes, and provide regular, substantive feedback.
- Maintain appropriate records and hold office hours.
- Maintain an active, ongoing program of scholarship appropriate to the discipline.
- Provide service to the department, college, university, community, and/or professional organizations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department chair or dean.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field (degree must be earned by the end of the first academic year).
- Evidence of the ability to be an effective instructor.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and research.
- Ability to contribute to multiple areas of undergraduate and/or graduate curriculum within the Department of Exercise & Sport Science.
