Assistant Professor - Accounting

Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in accounting full-time on main campus in seated classes.
• Teach specified accounting, finance, or business classes including Accounting I & II, Personal Income Tax, Auditing, Accounting Information Systems.
• Run an on-campus Volunteer Income Tax Assistance clinic (VITA).
• Teach 12 hours per term.
• Support accounting students through academic advising.
• Successfully direct and supervise internships.
• Play an active role in recruiting and retention efforts.
• Participate in Accounting Club activities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated education or experience supporting the teaching of specified accounting, finance, or business classes.
• A demonstrated record of excellence and innovation in teaching.
• A commitment to service as a faculty advisor, student organization advisor, and active member of an undergraduate teaching team.
• A strong network in the accounting industry and business connections.
• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a finance and/or accounting role.
• A strong understanding of and commitment to the Trine culture and to the Angola community.
• A strong understanding of and commitment to the Trine culture and to the Angola community.
• Proficiency in accounting software is desired.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A terminal degree in Accounting or a closely related discipline is preferred; the minimum qualification for the position is a Master’s degree in Accounting or a closely related discipline.
• Candidates with at least a Master’s degree and extensive experience in finance or accounting will be strongly considered.
• A CPA designation is also preferred.
