About the role
The Accounting Department in the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University invites applications for two full-time tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning in Fall 2027. We encourage applications from candidates who will contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community, including individuals from historically underrepresented groups.

Qualifications
- Ph.D. or ABD in accounting or closely related field by September 1 of the appointment year.
- Demonstrated capacity to undertake scholarly research publishable in leading academic journals.
- Commitment to contributing to Santa Clara University’s mission, including fostering a culture of inclusion and academic excellence.
Responsibilities
- Tenure-track faculty at Santa Clara University are teaching scholars expected to balance teaching, research, and service.
- This is an in-person position.
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the faculty member’s area of expertise, as assigned by the department chair.
- High-quality teaching and significant faculty-student interaction are prioritized at SCU.
- The University provides extensive support for teaching development through its Faculty Development programs, which include workshops, grants, and mentoring opportunities.
- Teaching will be evaluated according to departmental standards and the principles of Ignatian pedagogy, which emphasizes respectful, inclusive, engaging, and evidence-based instruction.
- Maintain an active program of scholarly research publishable in leading academic journals.
- Each department maintains standards for scholarly work that contribute to the evaluation of tenure and promotion.
- The University strongly supports early-career faculty through mentoring and professional development resources.
- Provide effective service to the Department, School, University, profession, and/or community through committee work, leadership, professional engagement, and other contributions consistent with rank and experience.
