About the role

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Cardiac Critical Care Medicine with a focus on Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching in the formal didactic lecture program and informal teaching of medical students, residents, fellows, and other health care professionals working in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
  • Attendance and participation in lectures, presentations, and conferences within the division as well as multidisciplinary conferences
  • Direct patient care and medical direction in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit

Requirements

  • M.D. or equivalent degree
  • Completion of fellowship training in pediatric critical care medicine or pediatric cardiology
  • ABP certification in pediatric critical care medicine or pediatric cardiology, the equivalent, or status as a candidate in the examination system
  • Ability to obtain a Pennsylvania license

  • Sustained record of professionalism
  • Evidence of academic productivity and leadership in projects related to an area of focus (e.g., education, clinical operations, community service, quality and safety, health equity, diversity and inclusion, health policy, global health)
