Assistant Professor Academic Clinician Cardiac Critical Care Medicine - CHOP

About the role

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track.

Responsibilities

• Expertise in the specific area of Cardiac Critical Care Medicine with a focus on Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Medicine.
• Completion of fellowship training in pediatric critical care medicine or pediatric cardiology is required.
• ABP certification in pediatric critical care medicine or pediatric cardiology, the equivalent, or status as a candidate in the examination system is required.
• The ability to obtain a Pennsylvania license is mandatory.
• Teaching responsibilities may include teaching in our formal didactic lecture program as well as the informal teaching of medical students, residents, fellows, and other health care professionals working in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
• Clinical responsibilities may include direct patient care and medical direction in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
• Primary practice is located at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
• The major emphasis of the Academic Clinician track is teaching and clinical excellence in pediatric cardiac critical care medicine, and a sustained record of professionalism.
• The expectation is that there will be a chosen area of concentration that include, but are not limited to, education, clinical operations, community service, quality and safety, health equity, diversity and inclusion, health policy, and global health.

Qualifications

• An M.D. or equivalent degree.
• Evidence of academic productivity and leadership in projects related to an area of focus will be required.

Skills

• Ability to obtain a Pennsylvania license.
• Professionalism.
