Assistant Production Supervisor

About the role
The Assistant Production Supervisor ensures effective utilization of the workforce in the assigned production area, producing necessary products at the lowest cost while prioritizing and managing resources for maximum productivity and accuracy. This role involves supervising, training, and monitoring department personnel.
Responsibilities
- Effectively utilize the workforce in the assigned production area.
- Utilize all available resources to produce necessary products at the lowest cost to the company.
- Prioritize and manage time/resources for maximum productivity and accuracy.
- Supervise, train, and monitor department personnel; handle conflict effectively.
- Review bills of material and shop orders for accuracy.
- Maintain working knowledge of Microsoft applications, email, and ERP systems.
- Identify problems, inform appropriate departments, and collaborate on workable solutions.
- Solve problems and implement method changes/process improvements to decrease cycle times and increase setup efficiency.
- Program, operate, and troubleshoot machines without assistance through process improvements.
- Recommend improvements in manufacturing and production operations.
- Follow production schedules to ensure orders are completed on time.
- Coordinate production jobs for efficiency and analyze production priorities.
- Ensure return-to-stock material is counted correctly and properly identified.
- Maintain good communication within the department and with other departments.
- Represent RTC professionally by demonstrating considerate and respectful behavior.
- Ensure direct and indirect labor is reported accurately and promptly for payroll and cost accounting.
- Responsible for safety and setting 6S standards in the department.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Degree in manufacturing, engineering, or business, and/or 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Intermediate to Advanced Excel).
- Experience with ERP systems (LN, SAP, Oracle, etc.) preferred.
- Experience in a machining/production environment with machine programming knowledge is a plus.
- Knowledge of operating Vacforming or Screen Print machines is a plus.
- Strong technical skills required.
- Must be a motivated self-starter and team player.
- Must work well with all associates in a team environment.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $48,056–$71,122, with eligibility for an annual bonus. Actual salary depends on qualifications, experience, skills, education, business needs, and market demand. Bonuses are based on RTC’s financial results and are pro-rated for the first year of employment.
