Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative tasks under the guidance of the Supervisor, such as attendance records, Work instruction updates and review, the distribution of checks, timecard review, etc.
  • Aid Supervisors in the hiring and assessment of new and current staff.
  • Participate in the training of new hires including the first day walk through and quarterly safety training.
  • Assist in addressing employee concerns and difficulties through good leadership principles.
  • Provide a resource for project management tasks like action lists and meeting notes for departmental projects.
  • Populate the SQPD board data daily for the departments they are supporting and be a backup to the Supervisor.
  • Assist in resolving problems, delays, and difficulties. Take appropriate action as necessary.
  • Review with McGard Senior Operations Supervisor as needed.
  • Notify Quality Assurance, McGard Set-Up, Tool Room, or Maintenance regarding problems with parts, equipment, or machinery.
  • Maintain attendance records and recommend disciplinary action as needed to McGard Production Supervisor.
  • Motivate employees through use of good communication skills.
  • Adept in all aspects of job tasks in your area of responsibility.
  • Act as replacement for McGard Production Supervisor during vacation periods or as needed.
  • Able to read and follow Bill of Materials, Work Instructions, Product View, and Production Work Orders.
  • Aid Lead/Assistants to instill a “continuous improvement” philosophy throughout the departments.
  • Supervise employees assigned to their AOR.
  • Work directly with employees on day-to-day problems. Suggest reassigning personnel as needed.
  • Meet with McGard Production Manager and other Supervisors to communicate needs and concerns from other shifts to ensure attendance and adequate manpower to satisfy needs.
  • Monitor production rates and assist employees when problems arise.
  • Interact regularly with opposite shift supervisor.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) year college degree or technical Certification preferred OR two to four (2-4) years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, (e.g. Intermediate to Advanced in Excel preferred.)
  • Give adequate and competent direction.
  • Ensure work is completed according to assigned schedule.
  • Proactive in continuous improvement.
