JOB DETAILS Job Summary The Assistant Produce Manager supports the overall operation of the produce department, ensuring product quality, inventory accuracy, and consistent execution of company standards. This role assists in supervising department staff, maintaining product freshness, and supporting daily operations to drive sales and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Support daily operations of the produce department to ensure product availability, quality, and presentationAssist in maintaining accurate inventory levels through proper stock control and product rotationEnsure all produce is handled, stored, and displayed in accordance with company and food safety standardsMonitor product quality and freshness, ensuring timely removal or disposition of unsellable itemsSupervise and support department staff to ensure adherence to company procedures and operational standardsAssist with merchandising, signage, and product displays to maintain an organized and appealing departmentSupport receiving processes by verifying incoming product for quality and accuracyMaintain department cleanliness, organization, and compliance with company policies and regulations Qualifications Previous experience in produce, grocery, retail, or warehouse operationsStrong understanding of product handling, rotation, and stock managementAbility to identify product quality issues and maintain freshness standardsExperience working in a team-oriented, fast-paced environmentStrong organizational and communication skillsBasic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools Preferred Qualifications Experience in a leadership or supervisory support roleFamiliarity with perishable inventory and food safety standardsBackground in high-volume retail or wholesale environments Work Environment / Expectations Primarily warehouse or retail environment with temperature-controlled areas. Requires standing, walking, and handling products for extended periods. May require schedule flexibility based on department needs.
