About the role
The Assistant General Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations at Applegreen travel plazas. This position offers valuable learning experiences for aspiring managers, focusing on key areas like performance feedback, goal setting, team building, and clear communication.
Responsibilities
- Confidently deliver performance feedback and set goals
- Foster teamwork and clearly communicate business objectives
- Supervise non-management associates, assign tasks, focus on store-level operations, coach, and develop shifts supervisors
- Perform duties in the absence of the general manager
- Motivate and positively influence staff, especially during low morale periods
- Address issues promptly and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Maintain awareness of brand standards and protocols to enhance brand/landlord/labor relations
- Ensure the restaurant is clean, inviting, and adheres to brand standards
- Manage cash accurately and report daily, following company directives
- Resolve customer issues and maintain positive relationships
- Perform spot inventory counts and ensure inventory accuracy
Requirements

- Strong leadership and management skills with proven ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent customer service abilities and positive attitude
- Sharp business acumen and excellent verbal and communication skills
- Two years of experience in quick-service restaurant or similar management operations
- A basic understanding of food safety practices
- Ability and willingness to lift/push objects weighing over 30 lbs
