Essential Job Functions
- Provide administrative support for the Fire Marshal’s Office and perform computer related tasks requiring broad working knowledge of a wide variety of standard computer applications
- Receive and respond to inquiries, concerns and complaints from department staff members, other county departments, outside entities and the general public; provides resolution or direct the inquiry to the appropriate individual
- Maintain and update complex filing and cross-reference/index systems for all documents, records and/or reports; process public records requests within scope of authority; prepare records for storage and maintain tracking database
- Schedule, and confirm appointments and meetings; maintain appointment calendar
- Enter and retrieve technical information from the computer in order to perform research, update records, process transactions or respond to requests for information
- Receive and review various reports, records, documents, etc.; verify accuracy and completeness
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED
- Supplemented by two or more years responsible work experience demonstrating ability to perform essential functions of the work
- Additional college level education is preferred and may substitute for a portion of the required experience
- Work experience must demonstrate computer literacy with standard software packages
- Prefer experience in a municipal or other public agency that provides broad knowledge of public administration systems
- Or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training and/or experience.

Salary Grade: 44- Status: Non-Exempt
