About the role

At Legacy Traditional Schools, we believe in igniting the desire to be the best. Our Assistant Principal position plays a crucial role in promoting the educational well-being of each student, fostering a unified workforce, and supporting the overall administration of the school.

Responsibilities

  • Aids in the overall administration of the school, focusing on students, teachers, and parents.
  • Acts as the School Level Standardized Testing Coordinator, facilitating administration of tests like NWEA MAP, JH midterms and finals, and implementing educational technology platforms.
  • Creates and troubleshoots the COW schedule rotation, assists with training new teachers, and oversees student discipline.
  • Assists with the creation, submission, and implementation of the school emergency operations plan.
  • Develops future school leaders, reviews weekly lesson plans, and oversees various programs like Legacy ValueProgram, Junior High Scheduling, and Community Education Programs.
  • Serves as the District Representative for IEP/MET meetings and follows up on all communications.
  • Manages the McKinney Vento program, oversees athletic activities, and coordinates community education events.
  • Hires, trains, and develops teaching and support staff, conducts formal evaluations, and ensures compliance with district policies.

Essential Junior High Duties

  • Creates and implements Junior High Scheduling, monitors teacher implementation, manages points, and provides parent notifications.
  • Oversees Junior High flag ceremonies, LVP day planning, CTM meetings, and parent contacts.
  • Oversees Word Strides and end of year JH Field trips.

Essential Athletic Director Duties

  • Schedules all games, hires and develops coaches, ensures attendance at home games, and completes required paperwork.
  • Orders, stores, and maintains athletic equipment, attends CAA Athletic Director Meetings, and coordinates end-of-season banquets.

Essential Community Education Program Administrator Duties

  • Serves as lead for all Community Education Programs, creates staff schedules, and manages accounts for LKC, KEEP, Non-school Days, Summer Days, and Clubs.
  • Hires, trains, and monitors LKC activities, communicates with families, and manages inventory and supplies.
  • Attends District Community Education Meetings.

Essential EL Coordinator Duties

  • Keeps up-to-date with the EL list, works with the principal to ensure reliable EL Testers, and processes Consent forms and Withdrawal forms.
  • Monitors EL Tutor's effectiveness and observes EL teachers using SEI strategies.
  • Ensures program schedules are created and followed.

Supervisory and Managerial Responsibility

  • Hires, trains, develops, and appraises teaching and support staff, conducts formal evaluations, and ensures compliance with district policies.
  • Develops staff to improve individual performance and provides quick remediation for low performance.

Qualifications

  • Earned a Master’s Degree in Education and working towards an administrative certificate.
  • Three or more years of teaching experience in a variety of grade levels preferred.
