Assistant Principal (26-27 High School)
About the role
We are seeking a talented and experienced assistant principal to lead our growing high school. The ideal candidate will bring cultural, instructional, and operational proficiency, along with a passion for equity, student achievement, and creating a safe learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Works with the Principal to support and monitor rigorous teaching and learning
- Establishes and sustains a celebratory and productive school culture
- Coaches and monitors classroom instruction
- Leads and supports professional development series and sessions
- Observes and provides real-time feedback and co-monitors classroom instruction
- Plans and conducts practice clinics
- Participates in planning and data meetings
- Implements and monitors systems and structures for student academic success, social and emotional health, and positive behavior
- Maintains a strong advisory program
- Promotes and supports a "One School, Two Campus" culture and programming
- Develops and implements the school's code of conduct and related systems and processes
- Holds all students to high and consistent behavioral expectations
- Collaborates with the Dean of Students and student support team staff
- Collects, monitors, and responds to student and teacher data
- Develops and leads grade-level Child Study teams
- Develops and leads school activities and events
- Maintains strong student attendance
- Collaborates with the operations team to design, execute, and monitor key school systems
- Serves in other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Masters in Education Leadership or similar field of study preferred
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Valid Massachusetts School Principal / Assistant Principal License or proof of successful completion of MA-PAL
- Minimum 3 years experience as a school leader, preferably as an assistant principal
- Current authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching and leadership experience in an urban public school
- Experience in school start-up or restructuring
- High School leadership experience
