About the role

The Assistant Principal directs and coordinates educational, administrative, and counseling activities of high school students by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of the school's vision, mission, and academic goals.
  • Observe, evaluate, and coach teachers to improve instructional practices and student outcomes.
  • Evaluate staff performance according to district and state guidelines.
  • Foster a collaborative, positive, and student-centered work environment.
  • Monitor student achievement data and work with teachers to improve outcomes.
  • Support curriculum implementation and instructional best practices.
  • Manage student discipline according to school policies and procedures.
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and community partners.
  • Respond to parent concerns and facilitate conflict resolution.
  • Utilize student performance data to drive decision-making.
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as graduation rates, attendance, course completion, and state assessment results.
  • Participate in school improvement planning and accreditation activities.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for school leadership as needed.

Requirements

Previous Supervisory Experience
Master’s degree AND
Five (5) years of educational experience OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to clear required background check

Qualifications

  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.)
  • Web proficiency
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time for meetings, professional development, etc.

Pay

$60,000 - Salary will differ based on several factors including geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions.
