About the role
UE is a liability insurance company serving K-12 schools, colleges, and universities. We focus on providing customized coverage, risk management resources, and claims support. We seek a collaborative individual with strong analytical and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Handle a large volume of claims through all stages of the claim process.
- Maintain complete and accurate claim files and documentation.
- Depending on the role and experience, handle litigated matters.
- Commitment to collaborative problem-solving, service excellence, and fostering an inclusive team environment.
- Being curious, paying attention to detail, and ability to multi-task are critical skills.
- Ability to review and understand insurance contracts and apply applicable terms to claims.
- Ability to evaluate liability, recommend resolution strategies, and negotiate settlements.
- Excellent analytical, communication (oral and written), and decision-making skills.
- Commitment to collaborative problem-solving, service excellence, and fostering an inclusive team environment.
- Proficient with relevant computer and software applications.
- Able to travel as necessary.
Experience and Education
- Assistant position: Typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience, Paralegal Certification, Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree.
- Associate position: Typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience, Paralegal Certification, Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree.
- Other relevant experience may include Clery Act reporting, Title IX or other workplace investigations, and paralegal experience.

Pay
The annual salary range is $65,000 USD - $85,000 USD, with factors such as role scope, experience, education, location, and market considerations affecting the final hourly rate/annual salary.
