Assistant or Associate Professor of Curriculum and Instruction

About the role

Texas A&M University‑Victoria seeks up to six full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant or Associate Professor of Curriculum and Instruction, with an anticipated start date of January 2027. The position is located at the Victoria Campus.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate‑level courses in Curriculum and Instruction in both traditional and online formats (4‑course or equivalent teaching load each fall and spring semester).
• Teach and support methods courses serving candidates seeking EC‑6, 4‑8, and secondary content area certification, as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction or a closely related field.
• At least 18 graduate credit hours in one of the identified areas of specialization (K‑12 Mathematics Education, K‑12 Science Education, Literacy Studies, K‑12 Physical Education) completed by December 2026.
• ABD candidates may be considered if a clear completion date is established.
• Evidence of strong teaching at the higher education level.
• Minimum of three years of PK‑12 classroom teaching experience in the content area.
• Strong understanding of effective pedagogy across grade levels.
• Working knowledge of expectations for educator preparation and teacher certification.
