About the Role

The Resource and Energy Engineering (REE) Program at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) invites applications for a full-time, academic professional-track (non-tenure) position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Instruction. The successful candidate will focus on teaching and service, with opportunities to engage in research and program administration aligned with their background and interests.

This position may involve teaching during summer semesters and supporting the development of new master’s and doctorate programs in both face-to-face and online formats. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available at this time.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary instructor for a range of undergraduate REE courses.
• Participate in undergraduate and graduate REE curriculum development, deployment, and assessment.
• Support program accreditation activities.
• Advise and mentor students and student design teams.
• Develop and support industry-related engagements.
• Contribute to the development and launch of new master’s and doctorate programs in REE.
• Mentor and supervise student design teams.

Requirements

• Earned Ph.D. or equivalent in engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Experience or interest in engineering education.
• Demonstrated experience in energy engineering or management.
• Strong commitment to teaching excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous university-level teaching experience.
• Experience mentoring students and student design teams.
• Familiarity with renewable and/or subsurface energy tools and technologies.
• Experience with development of new courses and programs.
• Industry experience in energy resource development (renewable, subsurface, nuclear), energy transport/storage/distribution, engineering design for energy infrastructure, or engineering management of industrial energy systems.
