Assistant or Associate Professor in Orofacial Pain

About the role

The University of Kentucky College of Dentistry is seeking applications for Assistant or Associate Professor in the Orofacial Pain. This is a full time, 12-month assignment period, Clinical Title Series, tenure track eligible position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality diagnosis and management of complex orofacial pain conditions, including temporomandibular disorders, neuropathic pain, headaches, and sleep-related breathing disorders.
• Serve as a faculty member of the Division of Orofacial Pain in the Department of Oral Health Science.
• Supervise and mentor students in the orofacial pain programs, in clinical patient care, emphasizing interprofessional approaches and collaborative management.
• Participate in interdisciplinary or interprofessional seminars and case conferences.
• Engage in scholarly activity consistent with professional goals and program needs, including collaborative projects, clinical case studies, or other research initiatives.
• Participate in continuing education courses and present at local, national, or international meetings.
• Actively serve on division, departmental, college, and university committees.
• Participate in professional development and maintain current expertise in orofacial pain and related disciplines.

Qualifications

• D.M.D. or D.D.S. degree from a CODA-accredited institution, or proof of graduation from a non-CODA-accredited dental school with evidence that the degree makes the candidate eligible to practice dentistry in the jurisdiction from which the applicant graduated.
• Certificate in Orofacial Pain from an institution accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
• Board Eligible or Board Certified by the American Board of Orofacial Pain.
• Eligible for an unrestricted or faculty-limited Kentucky dental license.
