Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor in Periodontology
About the role
The University of North Carolina invites applications for an open-rank (Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) faculty member who will serve as a Periodontology faculty member in the Department of Periodontology, Endodontics, and Dental Hygiene. The selected candidate will provide didactic and clinical instruction as well as evaluation of pre-doctoral dental students and graduate dental residents in periodontics, implants, and digital dentistry, including diagnosis, treatment planning, non-surgical, and surgical care. This position offers outstanding opportunities for intramural practice, scholarly activities, continuing education and professional service and research. Successful candidates should have the ability to establish a robust intramural practice with the UNC Adams School of Dentistry’s Dental Faculty Practice.
Responsibilities
- Provide didactic and clinical instruction as well as evaluation of pre-doctoral dental students and graduate dental residents in periodontics, implants, and digital dentistry, including diagnosis, treatment planning, non-surgical, and surgical care.
- Establish a robust intramural practice with the UNC Adams School of Dentistry’s Dental Faculty Practice.
- Engage in scholarly activities, continuing education, and professional service and research.
Requirements
- Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Candidate must have a DDS/DMD or equivalent degree, and advanced training in periodontology and implant dentistry.
- Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience: Board-certified or Board-eligible in periodontology or implantology, eligible to obtain a North Carolina conscious sedation license, excellent oral and written communication skills, and leadership, administrative, and supervisory experiences are preferred.
Qualifications
- Doctorate in Dentistry (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD).
- Advanced training in periodontology and implant dentistry.
- Board certification or board eligibility in periodontology or implantology.
- Eligible to obtain a North Carolina conscious sedation license.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Leadership, administrative, and supervisory experiences are preferred.
