Assistant Operator - 1st Shift

About the role

You will be responsible for all activities associated with assisting to operate production machines. This includes setup, operation, clean-up, quality checks and recommending improvements to operations.

Responsibilities

• Will be responsible for assisting the operation the machinery at maximum capacity and speed.
• Work diligently to improve set up times and downtime daily.
• Identify and address mechanical concerns and report to supervisor.
• Work at a fast‑pace set by the machine operator in order to adhere to production schedule.
• Continue to learn operation of the machine, downtime, setup times and quality of product.
• Assist with completing necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner.
• In accordance with proper techniques, assist in the set‑up slotting, feed, and die cut sections on machine accurately.
• Monitor board quality for any defects and make adjustments when necessary.
• Willingness to move up the line of progression and cross‑train on other machines.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintain good housekeeping.

Requirements

• May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED, Strong desire to learn and grow in a state‑of‑the‑art, fast‑paced environment, 6 consecutive months experience in some type of manufacturing operation, preferred.

Skills

Language Skills: Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.

Mathematical Skills: Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.
