About the Role

The Assistant Operations Manager, reporting to the Operations Manager, is responsible for managing the day-to-day operational execution of assigned client, area, and/or shift. This includes effective labor scheduling, workflow, efficiencies, supervision, and proper utilization of space, equipment, and resources.

Compensation range: $75K–$90K, depending on experience.

Schedule: 11:00 AM–7:30 PM, Monday–Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the safe, efficient, and economical operation of the warehouse for assigned client, area, and/or shift in staffing, warehouse operations, facility and equipment maintenance, safety, security, housekeeping, sanitation, budgeting, and inventory control.
  • Manage all distribution services (receiving, storing, shipping, handling returns/damaged goods, maintenance, and administrative activities) to meet customer requirements and KPIs.
  • Interface with internal partners (Strategic Account Management, Business Process Optimization, Customer Service, Finance, and Human Resources) to identify business opportunities and resolve issues.
  • Ensure supervisors, leads, and associates are properly trained on standard operating procedures, conduct method observations, and document them per company standards.
  • Develop and communicate clear goals and expectations for assigned staff; provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and MSDS regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required; four-year college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three to five years of demonstrated supervisory experience, preferably in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of 3PL, supply chain, and transportation; WMS system experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control, cycle counts, and a proven track record of inventory accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of Lean principles and/or Six Sigma preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft business applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and function well in a high-paced, occasionally stressful environment.
