Assistant Operations Manager

About the role

The Assistant Operations Manager reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for managing the day-to-day operational execution of assigned clients, areas, and shifts. Key responsibilities include effective labor scheduling, flow management, efficiency improvements, supervision, and resource utilization.

Responsibilities

• Manage all distribution services including receiving, storing, shipping, handling returns, and damaged goods.
• Ensure customer requirements and KPIs are met efficiently.
• Interface with internal partners to identify business opportunities and resolve issues.
• Train and develop assigned staff, conduct method observations, and document according to company standards.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and MSDS regulations.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Four-year college degree preferred.
• Minimum of three to five years of supervisory experience required, preferably in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
• Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and policies and procedures.
• Experience with 3PL, Supply Chain, and Transportation, and working knowledge of WMS systems preferred.
• Proven track record of inventory accuracy and working knowledge of Lean principles or Six Sigma.
• Proficiency in Microsoft business applications such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to function well in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.

Qualifications

Benefits

Barrett Distribution Centers offers a competitive compensation range of $75K-$90K, depending on experience. The position works 7:00am-3:45pm, Monday through Friday.
