About the role
The Assistant Operations Manager reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for managing the day-to-day operational execution of assigned clients, areas, and shifts. Key responsibilities include effective labor scheduling, flow management, efficiency improvements, supervision, and resource utilization.
Responsibilities
- Manage all distribution services including receiving, storing, shipping, handling returns, and damaged goods.
- Ensure customer requirements and KPIs are met efficiently.
- Interface with internal partners to identify business opportunities and resolve issues.
- Train and develop assigned staff, conduct method observations, and document according to company standards.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and MSDS regulations.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Four-year college degree preferred.
- Minimum of three to five years of supervisory experience required, preferably in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and policies and procedures.
- Experience with 3PL, Supply Chain, and Transportation, and working knowledge of WMS systems preferred.
- Proven track record of inventory accuracy and working knowledge of Lean principles or Six Sigma.
- Proficiency in Microsoft business applications such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to function well in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
Qualifications

Benefits
Barrett Distribution Centers offers a competitive compensation range of $75K-$90K, depending on experience. The position works 7:00am-3:45pm, Monday through Friday.
