Responsibilities
- Support the Nursing Home Administrator in delivering high-quality care to patients and residents.
- Lead strategic initiatives for patient and resident services, community outreach, and key industry relationships.
- Initiate and implement innovative facility-wide planning to achieve 5-Star rating status.
- Manage resource allocation for all aspects of services.
- Review and act upon reports from authorized inspection agencies.
- Maintain responsible accounting practices, including budgeting and internal controls.
- Aid in formal and informal education programs for health care, administrative, and management areas.
- Aid in recruitment, selection, and retention of department managers; educate and develop these managers to achieve department goals.
- Empower employees to reach their full potential; use a participative management style involving employees in policy development.
- Create and manage a continuous quality improvement program, ensuring appropriate follow-up.
- Develop mission statements, philosophies, goals, and objectives for the facility; oversee key staff to accomplish these goals.
- Ensure effective communication among supervisors, residents, families, and health care professionals.
- May be required to drive for company business using either a company vehicle or personal vehicle.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience, with a license to practice Health Care Administration in Long Term Care – NHA.
- Completed AIT (Associate in Long Term Care Administration).
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare/Long-Term Care Administration, Nursing, or Social Work.
- At least 5 years of supervisory/management experience.
- Enrolled in Long-Term Care Administration courses with the intention of obtaining a Nursing Home Administrator’s License within one year of hire.
- Experience in long-term care is preferred.
- Required to have a Nursing Home Administrator’s License.
