Assistant Nursing Education Instructor - Full Time

Core Job Responsibilities

• Presents selected content that is grounded in educational theory and evidence-based practice, under the guidance of the Course Coordinator.
• Promotes the correlation of the biopsychosocial sciences and nursing theory to clinical practice.
• Utilizes IT to enhance instructional delivery and design, under the guidance of the Course Coordinator.
• Provides resources to diverse learners that help meet their individual learning needs.
• Creates opportunities for learners to develop multi-perspectival critical thinking and reasoning skills.
• Manages responsibilities in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner.
• Demonstrates respect for the dignity and worth of each learner.
• Communicates level of progress to each learner through consistent feedback, collaborating in the development of a remediation plan when appropriate.
• Uses a variety of strategies to evaluate learning in the cognitive, psycho-motor, and affective domains.
• Demonstrates competency in the application of theory to the supervision of and delivery of care to clients at various life stages.
• Models cultural competence.
• Develops technological competence to enhance interactions with learners and access to best practice teaching strategies.

Education/Experience Requirements

• BSN.
• Actively enrolled in Master’s degree in Nursing Education program.
• 2+ years of clinical nursing education.

Licensure/Certification Requirements

• Current licensure as a registered professional nurse in NYS.
• BLS certification.
